Obituary

Alvis Lollar Ahrens, born October 25, 1946, in San Angelo, Texas, lived a life defined by love, faithfulness, hard work, and selfless devotion to her family. She was a woman whose greatest gifts were often found in the quiet things she did for the people she loved-caring, serving, giving, and always putting others before herself.

Alvis attended Eden High School, where she graduated in 1965. During her high school years, she played basketball, carrying with her the determination, energy, and team spirit that would remain part of her character throughout her life.

On March 4, 1967, Alvis married the love of her life, Rudy Ruben Hilmer Ahrens. Together, they built a life rooted in family, faith, hard work, and the traditions of country life. Alvis stood faithfully beside Rudy throughout their marriage, sharing in the work of ranching and in the joys and challenges that came with building a life together. In Rudy's later years of illness, Alvis lovingly cared for him, remaining faithfully by his side with unwavering devotion.

Her faith was an important part of her life. In 1967, Alvis was baptized at Christ Lutheran Church, and she remained a faithful member of Christ Lutheran Church from 1967 until the present. Her church family was an important part of her life, and she found joy in gathering with others, serving, and sharing the fellowship that meant so much to her.

Alvis was, first and foremost, a caregiver. She devoted herself to raising her two children, Amy Geisweidt, married to David, and Curtis Hilmer Ahrens. She gave her children a home filled with love, guidance, and the steady presence of a mother who could always be counted on. Later in life, she devoted many years to caring for her mother, once again giving generously of her time, strength, and love.

Alvis also had a special way of showing her love through food. Her famous coconut pies became a treasured tradition. She was known for making her coconut pies and taking them to church gatherings, where they were shared with family, friends, and her church community. Those pies were more than a dessert-they were an expression of Alvis herself: generous, thoughtful, comforting, and made with love. They became part of the memories people will carry with them of her and the warmth she brought wherever she went.

One of Alvis's greatest joys was being a grandmother. She dearly loved her grandchildren, Jacob Geisweidt, and Sarah Steen, married to Harrison. Her grandchildren brought her immense pride and happiness, and she cherished the time she spent watching them grow and celebrating the lives they were building.

Alvis will be remembered not only for all that she did, but for the love behind everything she did. She was steadfast and faithful, hardworking and generous, a devoted wife, loving mother, caring daughter, proud grandmother, and faithful friend. She gave of herself freely and found purpose in caring for the people around her.

Her legacy lives on in her children and grandchildren, in the traditions she created, in the faith
