Barry Becker was born on July 16, 1952, at Keidel Hospital in Fredericksburg and passed away at his home on October 11-h. He was 74 years old. He was the fourth child and only son born to Mary Lou Stapp Becker and Leon Rudolph Becker. He and his three older sisters attended elementary school in Brady, Texas, before moving to Fredericksburg. Barry graduated from high school in 1972 and attended Ranger Junior College before starting his work with the State of Texas. He married Teri Kusenberger in Fredericksburg on July 23, 1977. They have one son, Derek Becker, who lives in Austin.

Barry enjoyed the outdoors immensely. He loved to hunt, fish, and spend time at his ranch in Kimble County. He was proud of his son and loved to watch football with him. He was an avid Texas Longhorn and Dallas Cowboy fan. One of his proudest sports moments was when he got to go into the Longhorn locker room after a game and Tommy Nobis offered him a chicken drumstick because he didn't want it.

At his ranch in Kimble County, he raised cattle and goats. He enjoyed his retirement by raising white tail and other exotic deer breeds. He liked nothing better than to tell hunting stories and enjoyed riding his four-wheeler on his property.

Barry is survived by his son, Derek, who lives in Austin. He has one living sister, Donna and her partner, Arthur Moellering III. Barry has one niece, Bridget Klein (Woody Klein), two nephews, Nicholas Lehmann of Seguin and Todd Lehmann ( Andrea) of Austin and several great nephews. He also has one brother-in-law, Clifford Lehmann, of Seguin.
