Belkis Baez Sanchez of Fredericksburg passed away on July 6, 2026 at the age of 82. She was born in the Dominican Republic to Francisco Baez and Melina Sanchez in 1944.

She is survived by her children David Galva and wife Luisa of Fredericksburg, Issa Galva of Fredericksburg, Argelia Sagebiel and husband Clark of Fredericksburg, Carmelita "Tita" Galva of Fredericksburg; 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; siblings Francisco Baez jr., Lourdes Sanchez, Ruben Sanchez, Jose Maria Sanchez, Juan Pena Sanchez, Manuel Emilio Sanchez, Gladys Sanchez, Maria Baez and special brother-in-law Rafael Galva. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by siblings Epifanio Sanchez, Belerminio Sanchez, Felito Baez Sanchez and Hector Sanchez.

Visitation will be Thursday July 9, 2026 from 9:00a.m. to 10:00a.m. in Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be 10:00a.m. Thursday July 9, 2026 in Fredericksburg Funeral Home with Pastor Ernesto Illingworth officiating. Interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Xavier Cabral, David Galva Jr., Aiden Williamson, Elvis Daniel Helena, Caleb Sagebiel and Rafael Galva Sanchez. Honorary pallbearers are Nehemiah Cabral and Jairo Bertin Jaimes.
