Obituary

Billie Marie McLeod was born on September 12th, 1942, in Brady, TX, and passed peacefully on Monday January 17, 2022, in Fredericksburg, TX.

A Celebration of Life will be held this Saturday, January 22nd, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Fredericksburg Funeral Home Chapel at 2278 South Highway 87 in Fredericksburg, TX.

Billie Marie is survived by her most beloved husband Jerry McLeod who was at her side constantly all throughout her courageous battle with Dementia.  They are an awesome example of love and caring devotion to all who know them, especially their daughters Patti and Debbi who were very supportive during this most difficult process.

Billie Marie was a very generous, kind and loving woman who really never met a stranger!  As an example, she loved and cared for children with special needs for much of her life.  In addition, she was an animal lover and rescued many animals through the years.  Billie Marie was devoted to her family!  She dearly loved her 3 children, 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Billie Marie loved to sail and even crossed the ocean! She enjoyed hunting for arrow heads and spent lots of time on the beach looking for and collecting some amazing sea shells.

She was an active member of the Fredericksburg Cowboy Church!

In addition to her loving husband Jerry, Billie Marie is survived by daughter Debbi Sue McCurdy and husband Mike, daughter Patti Marie Cowsert and husband Tim; grandchildren Courtney Marie Cowsert, Lindsey Ann Vollmer and husband JC, Collin McLeod Cowsert, Tasha Renee McCurdy, Ashley Rachelle Abuzlam; great grandchildren Vallie, Ridge, Tana, Tate and Khloe; sister Cathy Kohary; and by her most loving and caring Aunts Patt Merchant and Maxine Bumguardner.  She was preceded in death by her precious daughter Terri Lynn and by her mother and father.
