Obituary

Brence Lee Heavner Jr, 55 of Johnson City, Texas died Friday, February 15, 2019

Lee was born in Temple, Texas on August 20, 1963. He was an adored husband, loved father and grandfather and a beloved son.

He grew up in Austin, Texas playing football for McAllen High School. He spent time serving his country in Korea at the DMZ line. Lee could not get back to Texas quick enough and soon returned to Austin where he became a skilled construction framer and met the love of his life, Ruby. With time, Lee made his way back to the Texas Hill Country, to his family. He spent his final years as a dedicated employee of Stagecoach Stop. Lee had many passions, he was an avid reader, he was second to none at a game of scrabble or jeopardy, he enjoyed picnicking at the park. However, none of his passions ran deeper than his love for the Texas Longhorns.

Lee is preceded in death by his mother, Elvena Heavner and his father, Brence Lee Heavner Sr. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Heavner, his children: son, Kris and wife Kristin Heavner of Phoenix Arizona; son, Darnell Heavner of Johnson City; daughter, Heather and husband, Gerald Watson of Fredericksburg and step-daughter Kelsey Heavner of Midland, Texas. Grandchildren Bradley and Hannah Heavner (children of Kris).  Lee was known and respected by too many friends to count in the Hill Country, and especially Eric and Arin Smith and Jimmy and Amber Smith and BJ. Lee was tendered hearted and never knew a stranger; we will all miss him dearly.
