Burrell Dwain Atkins' Obituary
Mr. Burrell Dwain Atkins of Fredericksburg passed away on May 28 at the age of 77. He was born in Dallas on November 20, 1939 to Albert Taylor and Lela Powers Atkins. He married Linda Goodstein on June 9, 1986 in Dallas. He was a follower of Christ, a father, coach, athlete, world traveler, insurance salesman, and entrepreneur.
Mr. Atkins is survived by his wife Linda Atkins of Fredericksburg, his children Kyle D. Atkins and wife Yvette of Dallas TX, Janis Haberl and husband Rudy of Sedalia CO, Julie Scott and husband Bill of Buford GA, Seth A. Atkins and wife Kelli of Dallas TX, Taylor B. Atkins and wife Celeste of New Braunfels TX, Sean N. Atkins and wife Lauren of New Braunfels TX, Hunter A. Atkins of San Antonio, Noah Aron of San Francisco CA, Adam Danneman and wife Deborah of Birmingham AL; brother Ronnie Atkins and wife Diane of Kerrville TX, and 16 grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his Parents Albert T. and Lela Atkins; daughter Angela R. Atkins Rougely; brother Windle Atkins and sister Pat Randall.
Visitation with family will take place on Friday June 2, 2017 from 5:00p.m. – 7:00p.m. in the Fredericksburg Funeral Home. He will lie in state from 9:00a.m. – 10:00a.m. on Saturday June 3, 2017 in the Oak Hills Church Fredericksburg
Funeral services will take place Saturday June 3, 2017 at 10:00a.m. in Oak Hills Church Fredericksburg. Interment will follow at 4:00p.m. in the Kimball Cemetery outside of Kopperl in Bosque County.
In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to Texas Special Olympics, Amazon Outreach, World Vision or the Charity of your choice.
