Carl Junior Grindle of Fredericksburg passed away on April 8, 2021 at the age of 86. He was born in Stanley Wisconsin on June 1, 1934 to Eugene and Haddie Ecken Grindle. In June of 2004 Carl married Scotty in Fredericksburg TX, Where the VFW hall brought them together.
Carl worked at IBP in Denison for 15 years and 20 years at Farmland. For a few years he owned Carl's Lounge in Charter Oaks. He served his country in Korea in the U.S. Army. Carl was a member of the VFW in Ute for many years. Carl's passions included gardening, fishing, dancing, camping and playing cards.
He is survived by his wife Virginia Mae "Scotty" Scott Grindle, children Shannon Hinricksen and husband Marvin of Moorhead Iowa, David Grindle of Soldier Iowa, Kevin Grindle and wife Lynette of Carter Lake Iowa, Stepdaughter Carolyn Whitten and husband Fred of Fredericksburg, sister-in-law Joann Grindle of Sebacka Minnesota, brothers-in-law Dave Wright of Rockford Illinois, Melvin Scott and wife Linda of Doss; sister-in-law Mrs. Annabel Stein; 10 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Haddie Grindle, siblings Mary Ritter, Frank Grindle, Everette Grindle, Kathryn Dettmer, Milton Grindle, and Lewis Grindle, 2 sisters and 1 brother in infancy; daughter –in-law MarciaGrindle.
A memorial service will take place Friday April 16, 2021 at 3:00p.m. in the Fredericksburg Funeral Home with a Visitation from 2:00p.m. – 3:00p.m. William Karlson will be officiating.
A celebration of life will take place in Izaak Walton Bartletts Park near Deloit Iowa at a later date.
His ashes will be interred in the Edison Union Cemetery in Wisconsin.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the VFW and Turner Hall or the Charity of your choice.
