Carol Ann Smith passed away June 12, 2026 at the age of 88 years old.  Carol was born September 24, 1937 in Fredericksburg, Texas to Ralph and Helen Henke Gold.  She was confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg.

She was proceeded in death by her parents Ralph and Helen Gold, along with her sister Gwen Henke and Brother In-Law, Roy Henke, brother in-law Jerry Smith and wife Joyce, and brother in law Jack Smith.

She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Victor E. Smith, her son Bryan Eckhardt, her daughter Kim Theriot and her husband Kenneth, and her son Kyle Eckhardt and his wife Laurie.  She is also survived by her Grandchildren, Lindsey VanDine and her husband Timothy of Pearland, TX, Kristin Theriot or Rosharon, TX, Taylor Theriot of Wimberley, TX, Tyler Eckhardt and wife Kari of Sealy, TX, and Justin Eckhardt of Sealy, TX and her Great Grandchildren, Brooke VanDine, Kylie VanDine, Dakota Denson, Kasen Denson, and Mille Jean Eckhardt.

She is also survived by her nephew Allen Henke and wife Marsha, niece Susan Henke Bryla and husband Carroll, niece Brenda Eckhardt Segner and husband Dennis, nephew Kevin Eckhardt, and nephew Robert Eckhardt, Brothers and Sister In-Laws Earl and Susan Smith of Lewisville, TN, Howard and Lois Smith of Kearney, NE, and Victoria and Rob Fries of Bartlesville, OK.

Before marrying Victor and moving to Alvin, Texas, Carol worked as the women's clothing buyer at Knopp and Metzger which was a job she truly loved.  She was a wonderful homemaker who loved to cook for family and friends and neighbors.  She was also a talented painter, loved antiques, and she enjoyed  watching Astros baseball.

The family will greet friends Tuesday, June 16th, 4-7p.m., in Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Carol Smith will be 2p.m. Wednesday, June 17th, in Bethany Lutheran Church.

Graveside services will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
