Charles Walter Segner, born March 20, 1947 in Fredericksburg to Henry and Lucille (Fritz) Segner, left this earth on April 21, 2025 to rest with the Lord.  He had an older brother, Raymond and a younger brother, Tommy. Shortly after graduating from St. Mary's High School in 1965, Charles served in the U.S. Airforce and an aircraft mechanic at Lackland Airforce base in San Antonio, TX.

In 1967 he married Carol Segner at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fredericksburg. They were married for 42 years. After the death of his father in 1974, he and Carol returned to Fredericksburg to be with his family and raise their three children: James, Cindy and Patty Segner. Along with his children he had 3 grandchildren: Ryan Segner, Brooke (Segner) Grona, and Madisson Elliott.

Naturally following the Segner family craft, Charles was a highly skilled carpenter for the majority of his years in both commercial and residential construction. He and his son James built and refurbished homes together. Later, Charles and his daughter Cindy shared the same love for refurbishing old, historic, homes in Fredericksburg. Continuing their business ventures, they later opened Charlie's Gold and Grill restaurant.

In the year 2020 Charles married Kay (Lucas) Segner at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Kay remembers that he was a warm and devoted husband and that it was a "blessing to be his wife."

Aside from work, Charles enjoyed fishing, car shows, and gathering with family and friends. Outside of fishing, he had a love for classic cars and trucks, which he enjoyed restoring.

With a love for outdoors and animals he enjoyed feeding the deer and racoons (which would meet him at the sliding glass door waiting to be fed!) as well as his beloved cat.  He even fed his donkey Cheetos!

Charlie is survived by his wife Kay Segner of Fredericksburg; children James Segner and wife Crissy of Fredericksburg, Cindy Segner of Fredericksburg, Patty Segner and spouse C.W. Lees of Fredericksburg; brother Tommy Segner and wife Barbara; sister-in-law Laverne Segner; grandchildren Brooke Segner Grona and husband Chase, Ryan Charles Segner, Madisson Elliott.

His preceded in death by his parents Henry and Lucille Segner; and brother Raymond Segner.

Charles will be missed dearly by all those who knew and loved him. His work will remain cherished with his memory.
