Cynthia (Cindy)
Annette Tubbs
Sep 28, 1957 — Jan 11, 2025
Cynthia Annette Southwood, affectionately known as "Cindy," was born on September 28, 1957, in Conroe, Texas, to Nancy Ruth Shipp and Billy Southwood. Cindy departed this earthly life for her heavenly life on Saturday, January 11, 2025.
Cindy was the strong-willed, red-headed eldest daughter of four girls. She completed high school in Conroe, TX, and went on to work for various oil and gas, piping, and tubing companies in Houston, TX. After nearly a 20-year career with Goodman Manufacturing, Cindy retired as a well-respected and cherished line supervisor.
In the early 1970s, Cindy married the love of her life, Raibon Tubbs. Together, they enjoyed bowling, riding horses, and most of all, raising their four daughters: Tracy, Shawny, Latasha, and Crissa. Cindy cared for her husband with the utmost devotion until his passing in 1994.
After retiring from Goodman Manufacturing, Cindy moved to Fredericksburg, TX, where she lovingly cared for her mother, Nancy Ruth Mitchell, until her passing in 2011. Cindy often spoke highly of Fredericksburg, always inviting people to visit her in her "beloved country town."
Cindy is preceded in death by her husband, Raibon Tubbs; her mother, Nancy Mitchell; two sisters, Elizabeth "Sue" and Karen "Dago" Southwood; and her precious grandbabies, Chloe Cornish, Christopher Tubbs, Cyrinity and Dredon Walker. She leaves to cherish her memories her sister, Samanthia "Tammy" Simpson of Fredericksburg; daughters: Tracy Tubbs, Shawny Tubbs Lewis (Roy), Latasha Cornish (Charles), and Crissa Tubbs. Cindy is also survived by her grandchildren: Joseph, Justtine, and Justus Lewis; Charles, Jr. and Cameron Cornish; and one soon-to-arrive great-grandbaby. Additionally, she leaves behind brothers-in-law, George, Tommie, Willie Raye, and Vernon Tubbs; sisters-in-law, Virginia Prince and Beverly Jones; uncles, Charlie and Glenn Shipp; aunt, Linda Shipp; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, and dear friends, Stacy Baker, Charles "Chuck" Goodson, Judy Hoopman and Emma Rios.
The family wishes to thank everyone for their prayers, calls, and support during this time of grief.
