David was born in Kingsville, Texas in the fall of '52 and was the youngest of the Dodds boys born to Edwin and Betty. He is survived by his two older brothers, Scott, of Kingsville and John, of Fredericksburg, his son, Todd Wade, of Belton, Texas, his daughter-in-law, Amy Beth, and their two children, Sawyer Olivia and Asher Wade and his beloved daughter, Traci Loren of Fredericksburg. He is also survived by his three nephews, Ed, of Indianapolis, Nathan, of Austin, and Joshua, of Dallas, and one niece, Leah, of Fredericksburg.

David was proud to have served in the United States Army and was stationed at Fort Dix near Trenton, New Jersey. He was the owner/operator of a residential and commercial painting business for over thirty years, forging lasting friendships with many of his clients along the way. In his earlier years you could either find him on Lake Travis with friends barefoot water skiing, at a live music festival or a drag racing event. In more recent years, he got much joy from volunteering at the local food pantry as well as the local SPCA and spending time with his beautiful grandchildren.

David was known for his work ethic, his generosity, his infectious laugh, and his lively story-telling. He was a beloved father, doting grandfather, loyal brother, faithful son, caring friend and thoughtful neighbor, who had a green thumb and a heart of gold. He was deeply loved and will be fiercely missed.

The memorial service will be held by the pond behind Das Peach Haus on Saturday August 7th at 7pm. The white balloons will lead you to the parking area.
