David Shields Montgomery III (Bubba) 56, of Fredericksburg, Texas passed away Friday, February 28, 2020. He was a loving husband, son, brother, uncle, and father.
David was born on February 17, 1964 in Birmingham, Alabama. He graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Geographic Information Systems from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas.
David began his career at Gousha Map Company in Comfort, Texas as a Cartographer. From there he worked for Continental Map Company in Austin, Texas. He also worked for the State of Texas Commission on Environmental Quality in Austin and Baker-Hughes INTEQ Division as a Mud Logger in Lafayette, Louisiana.
David was an avid drummer and music lover. He loved football and rarely missed an opportunity to watch his favorite teams: The Dallas Cowboys, Alabama Crimson Tide and Texas Longhorns. He was known for his infectious smile and laugh, quick wit, and kind compassionate spirit. He loved the Texas Hill Country.
David was preceded in death by his father David Shields Montgomery Jr. He is survived by his mother Maggie, children Chloe and Vance, sisters Kathy and Merredith, brother Monte, aunt Marcia, uncle Marvin, niece Melyssa, nephews Mason, Wesley, Stormy, and several cousins.
