Dick Tracy of Spring Branch passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at the age of 89.  He was born in Paris, TX to Thomas James and Emily Jenkins Tracy. His family moved to the Rio Grande Valley when he was 6. He graduated from PSJA High School in 1954 and then attended Pan America College and LSU. He served his country in the Army and was stationed in Germany in 1960. He married Diana Del Riha on March 31, 1962 in San Juan, TX.

Mr. Tracy worked as a road construction foreman for M. C. Winters for several years after his discharge from the Army. Different projects took him across the state, finally ending up in East Texas building a section of Interstate 30 near Texarkana. Afterward he went to work for SWEPCO at a nearby coal-fired electric plant. The family lived in Naples, TX until his retirement in 1998. Dick & Diana then bought a small acreage north of San Antonio and retired to their dream home in Spring Branch, TX.

Dick was a life-long prankster, often pulling some elaborate practical jokes on family & friends. He enjoyed fishing, dominoes, reading and watching his grandchildren grow. He was a member of the Naples Church of Christ and Oak Hills Church after moving to the San Antonio area. Dick was a soft-spoken person - quietly devout and extremely generous.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 63 years Diana Tracy of Spring Branch, daughter Dayne Tracy of Spring Branch, son Dan Tracy and wife Rona of Stillwater, OK, grandchildren; Cal Tracy, Tess Tracy, and Willa Tracy; sister-in-law Lisa Stapleton and husband Patrick; sister-in-law Natalie Tracy; brother-in-law Jay Riha; nieces Kristin Settles, Callie Richardson and husband Geoffrey, Hannah Stapleton, Tracy Zemanek and nephew Tommy Tracy; great nieces and nephews Emilie Zemanek, Patrick Zemanek, Kayla Tracy, Travis Sherill and several cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents Emily and Jim Tracy, brothers Tom Tracy and Ed Tracy, sister Mary K. Patterson brother-in-law William A ( Pat )Patterson, , and niece Tricia Sherrill.

Per his wishes he will be cremated with a graveside service at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery at 2:00pm on April 17, 2025.
