Dorothy Mae Hawkins Crawford Hoag, the beloved wife of Charles W. Hoag and step-mother of eight, died June 24th, 2017 at the age of 83, after a 3 year battle with cancer. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Lillie Mae & Luther Benjamin Hawkins, sister Lucille Beddingfield, sister Clemmie J. Harrell, brother Cecil R. Hawkins, brother Arnold L. Hawkins, brother Robert E. Hawkins and step daughter Patrice E. Weber. She is survived by her husband Charles W. Hoag Sr. and 7 step children, Darryl G. Hoag, Karen M. Hoag, Susan E. Sobelick & Shawn, Charles W. Hoag Jr. & Jeannette, Michael D. Hoag, Donna S. Herrera & Ray and Lyle E. Hoag & Tracy. Also survived by her niece June Ellender, niece Terri Castleberry, niece Sandra Lambright, nephew Gary DeClerk and several great nieces & nephews. Also her close friends Jean & Dane McNeese, Mary C. Moore and Laura Anne Davis.

Dottie lived in San Antonio for 27 years where she met and married Bill W. Crawford until his passing in 1971. She worked for several financial companies in Shreveport. She lived in Houston several years and worked for American General until moving to San Antonio where she worked for Coca Cola Bottling Co. as a secretary. In 1976 she met and married Charles W. Hoag Sr. Charles (Chuck) always referred to Dottie as his BW (Beautiful Wife).

She was a caring woman, always concerned about how others were doing. Even up to the day before she passed she was asking how others were doing. She was a beautiful, kind hearted Southern girl. She will be forever in our thoughts and missed dearly.
