Obituary

Douglas Melvin Seale, 78, of Fredericksburg, Texas, died on September 21, 2021.

He was born on February 25, 1943 in Wellington, Texas to William Melvin and Lee Ella

"Mickey" Bowen-Seale. Doug graduated from Wellington Highschool. He was a member

of the Texas National Guard and an employee of the Department of Public Safety and a

Sheriff's Deputy.

Doug ran a farming/ranching operation with his father, worked in sales and security.

Anyone who knew Doug was touched by his relationship with the love of his life and best

Friend, Ella Meyer Seale. They were married on November 9, 1974 in Fredericksburg. If

they did anything, they did it together. From motorcycle and van clubs, canoeing, dancing

and Cowboy Action. A teller of tall tales and lifelong lover of sourdough biscuits and

gravy, he was a soft spoken but deep voiced cowboy who cherished all things Texas. He

was an avid scholar of "firearms" and a protector of Comanche burial grounds on family

land. A man who harvested wheat on the high plains, skied in the Gulf of Mexico and

slopes of Colorado and was once, allegedly, kicked out of Canada.

He is survived by his wife, Ella Seale of Fredericksburg, children, Sandi Seale and

Marcia Davis of Oklahoma City, OK; Spencer and Kristy Seale of Wills Point, TX; Mandi

and Brad Carter of Lago Vista, TX; grandchildren Jacob Seale, Kesley Young and husband

Jeff, and Keelie Hughes and three great grandchildren, Jayson, Addi and Levi; and brotherin-

law Charles Meyer.

A memorial service will take place on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at 2:00 p.m., in the
