Edward F Nordmeyer, 82 of Fredericksburg, TX passed away May 11, 2025 from Alzheimer's at Knopp Nursing Home & Healthcare. Born Sept. 9, 1942 in McAllen,TX to Rudy L. Nordmeyer and Colleen Barrett Nordmeyer. Ed grew up in Mission, TX. Was a member of St Paul's Lutheran Church in McAllen, TX. He went to primary and middle school in Mission,TX. High School at Concordia Lutheran in Austin graduated from McAllen High in McAllen, TX. While attending Pan American College in Edinburg,TX as a physics major he was chosen by the NASA manned spacecraft center to be in a cooperative training program between his college and NASA. He worked for NASA for 5 years after his college graduation in 1964. He married Christelle Byrne Nordmeyer in July,1964. Ed worked for Dowell oil field services from 1969 to 1974. In 1974 he went to work for Dowell Schlumberger and moved overseas. His wife and sons moved with him and they lived in 8 different countries and traveled extensively. He was an active member of all the churches he attended. He couldn't pass up a Dairy Queen, and his grandchildren loved that. He loved the Houston Astros and he loved to play golf, hunt and go fishing. He is survived by his Wife, Christelle Byrne Nordmeyer; sons Edward F Nordmeyer III, wife Darissa and Seth N Nordmeyer, wife Kristine; grandchildren Schavauhn Ferguson, Summer Nordmeyer, Stephanie Barbour, Luke Nordmeyer, Skyler Nordmeyer, Elijah Nordmeyer, Faith Nordmeyer and Alicia Nordmeyer; and Siblings Barbara Nelson, Bette Jo Sciantarelli, Rudy Nordmeyer and Jane Rose.
Visitation will be held at Fredericksburg Funeral Home, May 15th from 5pm-7pm. Funeral Service will be at Resurrection Lutheran on May 16th at 10am.
Memorial contributions in his memory can be made to Resurrection Lutheran, the Alzheimer's Association or Multiple Sclerosis Society.
