Obituary

Felix Charles Hahn Jr. of Doss passed away peacefully on Monday February 22, 2021 at the age of 79 years.  He was born July 23, 1941 in Fredericksburg, TX  to Felix Sr. and Esther Beyer Hahn. He married Emabelle Saathoff on November 3, 1962 in Quihi, TX at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.  They were married 58 years and lived their entire life in Doss, TX.

Felix is survived by his wife Emabelle Hahn of Doss; children Sandra Sanford and husband Sam of Fredericksburg, Margie Campbell and husband Jonathan of Kerrville, Audrey Cook and husband Steve of Lafayette, CO. 4 Grandchildren Megan and Courtney Campbell , Laura and Savannah Cook; sister Helen Allred of Marble Falls.

Felix was baptized on September 14, 1941 at St. Peter Lutheran Church and was confirmed there as well.  He was an active member of St. Peter Lutheran Church his entire life.   He attended Squaw Creek School for his Elementary and Middle school years, and graduated from Fredericksburg High School in 1959.  Felix was a member of the Fredericksburg FFA and enjoyed showing livestock in the Gillespie County Livestock Show.  After High School, he enlisted in the Army Reserves.  After returning from basic training, he farmed and ranched the family ranch in Squaw Creek with his wife, Emabelle.  They were blessed with three daughters, three wonderful sons-in-laws, and four beautiful granddaughters.

Felix enjoyed many interests including barbequing brisket, deer and turkey hunting, gardening, and  was an avid fan of the Fredericksburg Battlin' Billies Football and Girls Basketball teams, Houston Astros, and the San Antonio Spurs.  He enjoyed serving in various capacities in the Doss community including the Doss Volunteer Department, Doss CSD Board of Trustees, St. Peter Lutheran Church Council, Men in Mission, Sunday School Superintendent, and was a Sunday School teacher for various ages.  He also participated in establishing the Hill Country Memorial Hospital in 1969.

Felix also enjoyed caring for his elderly parents and other relatives as well as attending any events related to his children and grandchildren. Felix loved playing 42 and Straight Dominoes with his family and friends making anyone feel welcome to join in to play.

He is forever with his eternal Lord and will be greatly missed as Husband, Dad, and PaPa, Brother, and Friend to all who knew him.

Visitation will be Friday February 26 from 4:00p.m.- 6:00p.m. in the Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be on Saturday February 27 at 2:00p.m. in St. Peter Lutheran Church in Doss with Bill Mosley officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers are Sam Sanford, Jonathan Campbell, Steve Cook, Collin Beck, Pat Stehling and Gary Lynn Hahn.
