Florence Merlene Eckert of Fredericksburg passed away on January 8, 2026 at the age of 82. She was born in 1943 to Adolph Klaehn and Katie Arhelger Klaehn. She married Kermit E. A. Eckert In Holy Ghost Lutheran church on January 20, 1962.  She is survived by her son Brian K. Eckert and wife Mary of Fredericksburg, daughter-in-law Rhonda Eckert Simpson of Fredericksburg; 5 grandchildren, Chance Eckert and wife Ashleigh, Caden Eckert and wife Hope, Cullen Eckert and wife Melissa, Hailey Hoffmann and husband David, Gavin Eckert and wife Drue; brother Roy Klaehn and wife Debbie of Fredericksburg; sisters-in-law, Margaret Klaehn of Fredericksburg and Opal Klaehn of Buda; sister-in-law Marjorie Otte and husband Ken; as well as 5 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents Adolph and Katie Klaehn, husband Kermit E.A. Eckert, son Daryl R. Eckert, sisters Marie Ottmers and Betty Hemmeter, brothers Raymond Klaehn and Marvin Klaehn.

Visitation will be Sunday January 11, 2026 from 1:00p.m. - 3:00p.m. in Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will Monday January 12, 2026 at 2:30p.m. in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church with interment to follow at the Eckert Family Cemetery at Bear Creek.

Pallbearers will be Carlton Ottmers, Eric Klaehn, Marty Klaehn, John Klaehn, Ted Simpson, Mark Gibbs, and Bobby Vitek.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Ghost Building Fund or the charity of one's choice.
