Gary Trenholm Petler, age 82, of Fredericksburg, TX, passed away peacefully at home on July 24, 2024.

Gary was born June 10, 1942, in Los Angeles, CA, to Fred and Muriel Petler.  He graduated from John Burroughs Senior High School in 1960, and then attended Glendale College.  He worked with Walt Disney for 4 years, where he obtained the nickname "Speedy" from Mr. Disney himself.  He joined the Army Reserves during this time, as well.  Upon leaving WED, he began his lifetime of entrepreneurship.  Among the businesses he founded throughout the Pacific Northwest were janitorial services, package delivery services, and website development.

Gary always had at least one project he was working on at any given time.  He enjoyed putzing around the property on his tractor, playing in the burn piles, moving rocks for Jennifer's rock walls, and running electrical for everything he had ever built.  He also liked going for drives to see new places.  One of those trips turned into quite an adventure trying to get his nightly glass of wine, as he found himself in a dry county!

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jennifer; daughters Tonya (Michael) Lewis of Othello WA, Traci (Jeff) Petler Olson of Phoenix OR, and Connie (Trey) Vick of Cisco TX; 7 grandchildren; siblings Mike Petler of Menifee CA, Cynthia Lusk of Portland TX, and Bill Petler of Oakhurst CA.

A Celebration of Life will be held Aug 31 at 11 am at his home in Fredericksburg.  Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, or the charity of one's choice.
