Gerda Marta Sweeney of Fredericksburg passed away on January 31, 2019 at the age of 88. She was born on January 21, 1931 in Gleiwitz Germany. She married John H. Sweeney on May 7, 1955 in Stuttgart West Germany.

She is survived by heer children Eric P Sweeney and wife Cathy of Pflugerville, Catherine Good and husband Larry of Charlotte NC, Victoria Dittmar and husband Dale of Fredericksburg, Barbara Cox of Waco; sister Marianne Flattich of Vaighen Enz Germany, Erhardt Klemt of Vaighen Enz Germany, Margot Sklar of Chesapeake VA; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents Erich and Maria Klemt, her husband John H. Sweeney, and a sister Erika Klemt.

In keeping with her wishes Gerda will be cremated and a private family service will take place at a later date.
