Mr. Harold Clifton Tatsch passed away Wednesday, November 16th, at the age of 89.
Harold is survived by his daughter, Jacqueline Henke & husband Gerald of Austin; son, Rick Tatsch & wife Gina of Georgetown; 8 grandchildren: matt Henke, Ben Henke, Josh Henke, Kristen Henke, Zach Henke, Reagan Tatsch, Taylor Tatsch & Tanner Tatsch & 17 great grandchildren.
Harold was born July 4, 1927, in the Pecan Creek Community, to Reinhold & Elsa Usener Tatsch.
He married Hilda Klein July 29, 1977, in Fredericksburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Werner Tatsch, Rubin Tatsch, Marvin Tatsch & Landa Wunderlich, as well as his wife Hilda.
He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of 17, sailing aboard the Destroyer USS Drexler 741. The Drexler engaged in one battle at Okinawa before it was sunk by two Japanese Kamikaze planes.
Harold became an avid golfer in his later years, developing many dear friends at Lady Bird Municipal Golf Course.
Funeral services for Harold Tatsch will be 2 p.m., Saturday, November 26th, in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, with Rev. Bobby Vitek officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ben Henke, Josh Henke, Zach Henke, Jack Czarkowski, Reagan Tatsch & Tanner Tatsch.
Graveside services with military honors will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
The family will greet friends 12-2 p.m., Saturday before the service in church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, the Admiral Nimitz Foundation, or the charity of one's choice.
