Helen Ruth Jung went to join the heavenly father on Wednesday ,June 21, 2017
She was born to the late August and Della (Schwethelm) Gombert on April 8, 1923.
Helen attended Comfort Public School System and graduated in 1940. In 1942, she moved to San Antonio and worked at Brooks Field. It was here she met and married Cecil Willis, Sr. They had two sons, Cecil Willis, Jr. and Frank L. Willis, before divorcing in 1952. September of 1952, Helen went to work as a secretary for Electronic Security Command at Kelly Air Force Base. Helen enjoyed a long and illustrious career before retiring in 1982.
After retiring in 1982, she made the move to Fredericksburg and it was here she met and married Lee Jung of Comfort in February of 1982. Helen and Lee enjoyed retirement by traveling and visiting with the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lee predeceased Helen on April 2006. Helen continued to live a full life by visiting with her many friends in the Hill Country, going to the Golden Hub, church and visiting her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Helen is survived by her sons and their wives, Cecil and Shirleen Willis of Stafford, Texas and Frank and Vivian Willis of Victoria, Texas. Also surviving her are her five grandchildren and their spouses,Wesley Willis and fiancée Jennifer Gillum of Colleyville TX, Nikki and Terry Holster of Richmond, Texas, Harvey and Heather Willis of Richmond, Texas, Glenn and Amber Willis of Tomball, Texas and Blaine and Melissa Willis of Lacosta, Texas. Helen also leaves behind the pride and joys of her life, her eight great grandchildren. Additionally, Helen is survived by her extended family of Janice Sparger, YvonneTarillionandKeithJung.
Visitation will be Sunday June 25, 2017at Fredericksburg Funeral Home from 5:00p.m. to7:00p.m.
Services will be held at Fredericksburg Funeral Home on Monday June 26, 2017 at 10:00a.m.
Interment will be at the Comfort Cemetery. Pallbearers are Wesley Willis, Harvey Willis, Dr. Terry Holster, Glenn Willis, Blaine Willis and Corby Lee Jung.
