J. David Tuttle of Fredericksburg, Texas passed from this earth on August 13, 2026 at the age of 97.

David was born on January 19, 1929 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Max and Mary Tuttle. He graduated from Purdue University in 1950 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with an Environmental Option. It was at Purdue that David met Patricia, who would be his spouse for 75 years. During the Korean War, David served at the Frankfort Arsenal in Philadelphia as the Military Manager of the Environmental Testing Facility. After his military service, David enjoyed a lifetime career with Buffalo Forge in Dallas, Texas and in New Orleans, Louisiana.

David and Patricia moved to Fredericksburg in 1997. They are known for their beautifully hand carved and painted figures that they created together.

David is survived by his wife Patricia, two daughters Greta and Amy, three grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and two nieces.

Services will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026 at 11:00 at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Tunnels to Towers, St. Barnabas, or the charity of your choice.
