Jade Kinross-Wright Browning, 65, of Fredericksburg, Texas, died on August 10, 2026,

surrounded by her family and friends. A beloved member of the community, Jade brought

warmth and grace to everything she did.

The daughter of Dr. John Kinross-Wright and Joy Lane, Jade was a Texas native and

grew up in Austin. After a year at Texas A&M, Jade began her career in banking at Austin

National Bank and quickly rose in the ranks. She left to help start up a new bank shortly before

the savings and loan crisis in 1985, which ended with her working at the FDIC. Later in her

career she became the manager at the downtown Dallas branch of Bank One, before moving to

Fredericksburg to manage the Chase Bank branch.

Jade believed in taking an active role in her community. She volunteered for many

nonprofit and community organizations. Among these, she was an active member of Pedernales

Creative Arts Alliance, the Gillespie County Fair and Festival Association, and served on the

Oktoberfest Advisory Committee. Her loss will be felt widely.

Jade is survived by her husband of forty years, Gordon Browning, her brother, John

Kinross-Wright, and her brother-in-law, Steve Browning, as well as her four nieces, Kimbe

Worthington, Morgan Kinross-Wright, Cary Kinross-Wright, and Lily Kinross-Wright, and her

nephew, Dr. John Kinross-Wright. She also leaves behind her beloved Golden Retrievers, Abbie

and Kari.

Jade loved animals and cooking and will be remembered for her generosity and her fierce

Loyalty to family and friends. She will be buried alongside her mother in a family plot in Roscoe,

Texas. A celebration of life will be held in Fredericksburg at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to any of the causes Jade dedicated so

much time to, including The Hill Country Community Needs Council, New Horizons, Hill

Country SPCA, Pedernales Creative Arts Alliance, and Gillespie County Fair and Festival

Association Scholarship Fund.

A private family service is scheduled.
