James Albert Rector of Jonestown, Texas passed away on January 27th in Cedar Park Regional Hospital at the age of 55. He was born on July 5th, 1961 in San Antonio, Texas to James A. Rector and Ann Keith Rector.
James graduated from Smithson Valley High School and served in the U. S. Navy for eight years. He married Deann Armstrong on August 10, 1985 at Cross Lutheran Church in New Braunfels, Texas. After leaving the Navy, James worked for Motorola and, for the past 25 years, worked as a Field Service Manager for Hologic, a developer, manufacturer and supplier of diagnostic and medical imaging systems related to women's health care including the 3-D Imaging Mammography. He enjoyed working with his Field Engineers and had the utmost respect for them. He developed many lasting friendships with the people he worked with. James also loved to fish and spend time at the ranch in Harper. He could build and fix anything he chose to do including building his own home. James had a great sense of humor, enjoying joking around and sarcastic humor. He was kind to everyone and offered his assistance where needed. For the past five years, James struggled from the effects of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia with a positive attitude and strong disposition.
James is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Deann Armstrong Rector, mother Ann Keith Rector from Andover, MA, brother Ken Rector and wife Jackie of The Colony, TX, sisters Nancy Burns of Ingram, TX and Julie Rector of Andover, MA. He is also survived by his Mother and Father-in-law Al and Ola Mae Itz Armstrong of Harper, TX, Brother-in-laws and spouses Michael and Diane Harris of Wimberley, TX and Scott and Cindy Armstrong of Canyon Lake, TX as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father James A. Rector and Step-mother Ann Rector and sister-in-law Connie Harris.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 30 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Fredericksburg Funeral Home in Fredericksburg, Texas and from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. at Saint James Lutheran Church, Harper, Texas.
Funeral Services will be held on January 31, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Saint James Lutheran Church, Harper, Texas with interment to follow in the Harper Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Chris Armstrong, Richard Broadway, Jim Fisher, John Garcia, Gonzalo Salazar and John Word.
