James William
Lange
Apr 7, 1955 — Jul 20, 2023
James William Lange was born April 7, 1955, in Fredericksburg, Texas to Roy and Doris Crenwelge Lange.
He was baptized on July 17, 1955 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Doss by Pr. A. E.
Flathmann. He affirmed his baptism in the rite of Confirmation at Christ Lutheran Church in Cherry Spring on June 8, 1968, with Pr. Charles Mohr presiding.
After graduation, James went to a trade school then went to work for Edmund Jenschke. He later became a foreman for the Allen Keller Company. A boating accident on June 12, 1988 changed his life forever. His wife Cathy was killed and James seriously injured; doctors believed that if he lived, he would lose his leg. James beat the odds and came home alive and with his leg.
James went to work for Arthur Lynn and Gary Hahn as a heavy equipment operator. He volunteered with the Doss Fire Department and enjoyed ranching, hunting, fishing, and watching sports. And most of all, he loved his family.
James passed away July 20, 2023 at the age of 68. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Debbie Lange.
James is survived by his daughter, Michelle Lange of Fredericksburg, son B.J. Lange and wife April of New Braunfels, and 3 grandchildren, Caitlin, Kindle and Karson.
Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Doss Volunteer Fire Department or the charity of one's choice.
