James David Neffendorf of Fredericksburg passed away on Sunday November 1, 2020 at the age of 88. He was born on September 5, 1932 in Fredericksburg to Richard and Frieda Friedrich Neffendorf Sr.

He is survived by his wife Virginia Fryar Neffendorf; children Dale Neffendorf and wife Bonnie of Rifle CO, Dean Neffendorf and wife Michele of Hanford CA, Clyde Dechert and wife Anna of Bellingham WA; Virginia's children Michael Fryar of Phoenix AZ, Carrie Mathers of Nashville TN; siblings Bernice Dryden of Fredericksburg, Lee Neffendorf and wife Betty of Beaumont TX, Frieda Louise Smith and Husband Buzzy of Kerrville TX, sisters-in-law Irene Nehr Neffendorf and Ruth Neffendorf ; 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents Richard and Frieda Neffendorf Sr., his first wife Lillie Gerloff Dechert Neffendorf; siblings Margaret Neffendorf, Raymond Neffendorf, Edna Gerloff, Vera Hertel, William Neffendorf, Richard Neffendorf Jr. Laura Gerloff, and Felix Neffendorf.

Per his wishes Mr. Neffendorf will be cremated and his ashes will be buried in the St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery in Doss on Friday November 6, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Michael Burdick officiating. Out of an abundance of caution the family has chosen not to have a reception following the service.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kirk Dechert, Stephanie Keller, Jimmy Neffendorf, Josh Neffendorf, Kyle Neffendorf and Kristin Deroo.
