Jean Lois Mohr of Fredericksburg passed away May 27th at the age of 89. She was born June 11, 1936, in Comfort TX to Louis Karger and Jennie Sabban Karger. She married Chester Raymond Mohr on October 3, 1954 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Comfort.

Jean is survived by her children Deborah (Debbie) Sue Prochnow and husband Jerry of Fredericksburg, Steven Wayne Mohr of Fredericksburg and Darrell Chester Mohr of Fredericksburg; grandchildren Amy Coronado and husband Danny, Krysti Smoot and husband Nick, Travis Mohr and wife Jackie, Alyssa Rivera and husband Thomas, Zach Mohr, and Kade Mohr; great grandchildren; Jake, Madison, and Piper Smoot; Kaitlyn and Kinsey Coronado; Colton and Cason Mohr; Emersyn and Eleanor Rivera.

She is preceded in death by her parents Louis and Jennie Karger; husband Chester Raymond Mohr, siblings Bella Luedke, Paula Allerkamp, Milbie Bohnert and Harold Karger.

Jean worked at Collins Handbag Factory for 2 years, Tandy Corporation for 4 years, Thee & Me Sewing Factory for 2 years and as a final inspector for James Avery Craftsman for 30 years. She was active in her church serving on Altar Guild, quilting, church newsletter and vacation bible school teacher.

Visitation will take place on Monday June 1, 2026 from 2:00p.m. – 3:00p.m. in Bethany Lutheran Church of Fredericksburg.

Funeral Service will be on Monday June 1, 2026 at 3:00p.m. in the Bethany Lutheran Church of Fredericksburg. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers: Richard Bohnert, Henry Bohnert, Nick Smoot, Danny Coronado, Travis Mohr and Zach Mohr.

Memorials may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church, The Alzheimer's Association, Methodist Hospital Hill Country Hospice, American Cancer Society or the charity of one's choice.
