Jerry Don Keesee of Fredericksburg, Texas passed away on February 18, 2025, at the age of 86.  Jerry deeply loved and cherished his grandchildren but didn't want a traditional grandfather name so his grandkids called him "JD", as did most of his family and friends. He was born in Shallowater, Texas on June 10,1938 as the 5th child and 2nd son of Joseph Clifford Keesee and Willie Viola Hudgens. He attended Texas Tech University earning a B.A. in Mathematics and married Isabel Hodgson on July 30, 1960, in Houston at West University Methodist Church. He and Bel raised four children and were blessed with six grandchildren.

JD grew up in a family of cotton farmers and later started a commercial greenhouse business followed by a series of successful entrepreneurial ventures.  His degree in Mathematics rose from an innate instinct and grew into a fondness of, and excellence at, numbers – a skill that served him in all his business ventures.  Whether a customer, employee, or even a competitor, JD attracted an uncanny number of people that highly loved and respected him.

JD always had his sense of humor at the ready and used it to charm anyone he met.  It is, perhaps, what he is most known for.  He loved to laugh, loved a corny joke, and loved to make others laugh.  And he was very good at it.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Isabel Hodgson Keesee, his four children, Kari Keesee Rotman & husband David Rotman, Kristi Keesee Greene & husband Paul Greene, Jerry Don Keesee, Jr. and wife Cindy Keesee, and Kate Keesee Caswell, and his grandchildren, Kevin David Rotman, Justin Philip Rotman, Jonathan James (Jack) Rotman, Griffith Paul Greene, Chloe May Caswell, and Isabelle Frances Greene, his sister LaDoyce Caswell, brother, Billy Keesee, and sisters Peggy Bingham and Eloise Brown.  All his surviving brothers and sisters live in West Texas.

A memorial service will take place at 3:00p.m. Saturday March 8, 2025, in the Fredericksburg United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to JD's favorite charity,  Heifer International or the charity of your choice.
