Jewel Ed Crossley, a long-time resident of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday the 17 ^th of January at Hill Country Memorial Hospital, at the age of 77.

Jewel was born August 4 ^th , 1940 to Edward and Julia Lott Langerhans. She graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1958 and later attended Cosmetology School. She began working in San Antonio as the assistant manager at Coiffures By Tony Salon and later worked for many years as a cosmetologist in Johnson City.

Meeting and getting to know people from all over came easy for Jewel. She was able to do this by working at several convenience stores around Fredericksburg and would strike up a conversation with anyone who walked in the door.

She is survived by daughter, Ginger Crossley of Fredericksburg, her son, Robert Felps and wife Terrie of Johnson City, two grandchildren, Lauren Sagebiel and husband Robert and Jamie Kneese and husband Russell as well as three great grandchildren, Landri and Reese Sagebiel and Bennett Kneese.

Jewel was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Julia.

The family will greet friends and family on Sunday afternoon from 2-4 at Fredericksburg Funeral Home. A private family disposition of her cremains will be held at a later date.
