Joan Olive Strand of Fredericksburg passed away on June 3, 2021 at the age of 93. She was born in Faribault MN to Wayne O. and Irene Anna Pofahl Saarela on July 30 1927. She married Herbert K. Strand on December 24, 1948.

Joan is survived by her husband Herbert K. Strand of Fredericksburg; her children Nance Buckley and husband Michael of Francestown NH, Robert Strand and wife Elaine of MA, John W. Strand of NC, Shirley K. Strand and husband Gary Robokoff of Makinen MN; brother Wayne Saarela of Bella Vista AK, sister Judith Ellen Truax and husband Frank of Hactings MN; and 7 grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents Wayne O. and Irene A. Saarela.

Per her wishes Mrs. Strand will be cremated and her ashes interred in Minnesota.
