Mr. Joe Bolin passed away Tuesday, December 15th, at the age of 80.
Joe was born on July 18, 1929 in Marlin, Texas. He met the love of his life,, Yvonne, in 3rd grade & they were married October 31, 1948. Following his service in the Navy from 1948 to 1950, two children were born in Houston, TX. A career with Luby's Cafeteria ensued over the next 16 years, until they moved to Fredericksburg in 1973. They opened Immigrants Landing Restaurant in 1975 which served up many signature dishes & infamous ambiance until closing in 1986. Another endeavor ensued shortly thereafter, as he became a licensed real estate agent & joined the Century 21 Sunset, Realtors team. His love for & dedication to broker/owners Dwight & Karen Oestreich and Property Management clients remained paramount up until the time of his death. Throughout the past 35 years, his interest & involvement with historical restoration prevailed & included multiple, local landmark buildings & the Fort Martin Scott. His greatest joy in life, however, centered around his family. The love for his wife of 61 years, his children, daughter-in-law, two awesome grandchildren, & uncountable friends always kept a smile on his face. He will be missed by so many!
Joe is survived by his wife, Yvonne Bolin of Fredericksburg; daughter, Jodi Blumberg of Fredericksburg; son, Greg Bolin & wife Terri of Mobile, AL; grandchildren, Jacob & Grace Bolin; nephew, Gary Bolin; niece, Noira Bolin; nephew Kevin Bolin & wife Cathy, brother, Herbert Bolin of Houston, & his beloved little dog, Tina.

Joe's body will be cremated, with a memorial service 11 AM Thursday, December 17th, in Bethany Lutheran Church, with chaplin Pam Traver officiating.
