John T. Canavan of Harper passed away on September 29, 2026 at the age of 81. He was born in New York, NY to John H. and Audrey Canavan. In 1945. John served his country in the Air Force. John was a rancher in Texas.

He is survived by his children John Canavan and wife Tina of Kingwood TX, Tim Canavan and wife Mary of Fredericksburg TX, Cathy Brewer and husband Rodney of Boynton Beach FL; Siblings; Bill Canavan, Gerry Canavan, Tommy Canavan, Audrey O’Neill and Mary Cosgrove; as well as 8 grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents John H and Audrey Canavan; brother Robert Canavan.

We will be cremated with interment of his ashes at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
