John Michael Halligan of Austin passed away on December 17, 2020 at the age of 89. He was born in Chicago IL on December 29, 1930 to John Francis and Mary Eagan Halligan. On November 10, 1953 he married Mitsue Ueda. He served his country in the USAF retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years Mitsue Halligan of Austin TX; children Mary Saiidi and husband Mo of Fredericksburg TX, John Halligan and wife Christine of Bogart GA, Theresa O'Brien and husband William of Esmont VA, Edward Francis Halligan and wife Rene of Austin TX, Cathleen De La Garza and husband Jack of Mobile AL; brother Thomas Halligan and wife Marsha of AZ, sister Margaret Scullion of IL as well as 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents John Francis and Mary Halligan; brother James Halligan; sister Mary James and a grandson.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday December 22, 2020 from 4-6 p.m. in the Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Mass of Resurrection will take place on Wednesday December 23, 2020 at 11:00a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fredericksburg with interment to follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery
