Joyce Ann Grona Moritz of Fredericksburg, Texas passed away on January 24, 2021, at the age of 82 years.  She was born October 20, 1938 in Fredericksburg, Texas to Elmon Grona and Olivia Klein Grona.  Joyce married Ned Moritz on June 3, 1961 in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Delbert Grona and sister Vernell Grona Scott.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 59 years, Ned Moritz; three children and their spouses, Russell and Lori Moritz, Shannon and Melissa Moritz, Stacy and Neil Graff; five grandchildren, Amanda Tipps and husband Will, David Moritz and wife Kylie, Sarah Graff, Rebekah Graff, and Megan Moritz; great-grandson, James Russell Tipps; and a brother Kermit Grona and wife Audrey.

Joyce graduated as Valedictorian from Fredericksburg High School in 1957 and received a Bachelor's degree from Texas Lutheran College in 1961.

After marrying, Joyce taught elementary school while Ned attended college.  She raised her three children, attended Bible study for many years, and loved to read.  She was a gifted writer and wrote many Christian inspirational short stories, poems, and cards for friends and family.  She was pleased to have a number of poems and short stories published, which was her lifelong dream.  She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Each year she wrote her grandchildren a birthday letter noting all their accomplishments from the past year and encouraging them in their faith.  She had a quick wit and kept her sense of humor, never complaining about her circumstances.

She wanted everyone to know that "if there is anything worthwhile in my life to talk about, it is because of the presence of God in my life – I owe it all to Him."

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 30th, at 2:00 p.m., in the chapel of Fredericksburg Funeral Home, with Rev.'s David Priem and Adam Thornton officiating. Graveside services will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Memorials in her honor can be made to the Parkinson's Foundation.
