Karen Shaye Pollard of Fredericksburg passed away Saturday February 25 at the age of 59. She was born on June 14, 1957 to Edgar and Amanda Markwordt Strackbein in Fredericksburg TX. She worked as a food service supervisor until her retirement.

She is survived by her children Michelle Watson and husband Jim of Fredericksburg, Betsy Ramirez and husband Rich of Fredericksburg, Robert Pollard and wife Sara of Westville OK, James Pollard and wife Emma of Fredericksburg; siblings Howard Strackbein and wife Lolita of Fredericksburg, Sharon Buford of Fredericksburg, Jim Strackbein and wife Elli of Harper TX, Barbara Riley of Kerrville TX, Gary Strackbein and wife Serena of Fredericksburg, JoAnn Esensee and husband Leroy of Fredericksburg, Linda Roberts of Fredericksburg, Bernice Czajka Of Merryillville IN, 12 grandchildren, Dakotah Meyers, Bearl Garry, Lance Curl, Cayden Pollard, Steven Pollard, Dylan Pollard, Shaylea Ramirez, Rylie Watson, Samuel Pollard, Timothy Pollard, Zayne Arhelger, 1 great grandchild Dameon Garry.

She is preceded in death by her parents Edgar and Amanda Strackbein, Sister Janet Lee Strackbein, brother in law Ted Roberts, grandchild Emmilea Strackbein.

A memorial service will take place on Thursday March 2, 2017 at 3:30 pm in the Fredericksburg Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Weaver officiating. A reception will follow at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall.
