Obituary

Karen Elizabeth Sagebiel Robinson of Dallas, Texas was called home by her Lord and Savior, after a brief battle with cancer on January 23, 2017. She was born in Fredericksburg, Texas on November 4, 1950 to Charles J. and Melitha A. Sagebiel and was the second of their three daughters.

Karen grew up in Dallas, Texas. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from East Texas State University (TX A&M Commerce) in 1973 and taught Career Development in the Dallas Independent School District for 35 years.

Many remember her as a mentor who taught not only Career Development, but also greater life lessons that guided her students to success. She changed lives, and gave them confidence that normally would have been just pushed by the wayside. The impact that she had on her students was legendary.
An energized traveler and lover of crafting, Karen's real and abiding passions were her family and friends. She sought to instill in her children a zest for life, a commitment to family and friends, and the power of a smile.

Karen is survived by her father Charles J. Sagebiel of Fredericksburg; daughters, Lindsay Robinson Nogueira and husband Marcio, of Richardson, Texas and Laura Elizabeth Pontes and husband Tad of Dallas, Texas; grandson Nicholas Nogueira; sisters Barbara Gregory of Fredericksburg, Texas, Sherry Gallini and husband Dan of McKinney, Texas; nephew Joshua Gallini and wife Rachel of Parker, Texas and their daughters Gina and Alexis; and niece Julie Lewis and husband Dan of McKinney, Texas and their daughters Elliana and Eviana.

While she will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her, Karen ran a good race and finished strong. Christ was waiting for her at the finish line.
The family asks that you spend time with your children, take a walk on the beach with your loved ones, make a toast to enduring friendships lifelong and beyond, and live a life honoring to the Lord. That is what Karen would wish!
