Karleen Carlisle passed away peacefully June 9, 2021. She was 82 years of age.

Karleen was born September 10, 1938 to the late Clarance "Bud" Carlisle and Neva Sessions Carlisle in Klamath Falls, Oregon. She grew up in Ashland, Oregon amongst a large extended family and graduated from Ashland High School in 1956. In 1972, she graduated from the University of Tennessee with a B.S. in Psychology. She lived in several states throughout the U.S. before settling in Fredericksburg in 1973. She married Conrad Farnhof on January 7, 1975.

Karleen was a strong, determined, and fiercely independent woman. She enjoyed a long professional career beginning as a social worker for the State of Texas, Child Protective Services. After leaving CPS, she worked independently as a Licensed Master Social Worker and Counselor. After a heart transplant in 2005, her focus shifted from professional to personal goals. She became accomplished in playing the piano, dulcimer, mandolin and harp. Her "Dulcimer Group" performed locally. She was also active in Zonta, a professional women's organization, PCAA, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR,) and a book club. She loved to care for her pets, garden, read, and socialize, having a true love of life.

Karleen is survived by her daughter Beca Diggins (Kerry) of Friendswood, TX and daughter-in- law Michelle Boerner of Fredericksburg, TX. She was a proud grandmother to Matthew Diggins of Denver, CO, Kevin Diggins (Heather) of McKinney, TX, Ryan Diggins of Friendswood, TX, Mason Boerner (Kelsey) of San Antonio, TX and Mitchell Boerner of Fredericksburg, TX. Great grandchildren include Juliana, Fionna, Jamison, and Benjamin.

Karleen is preceded in death by her husband, Conrad Farnhof, infant daughter Lisa Boerner, and son Michael Boerner.

The family would like to recognize Regina Rosenwinkel, a true friend with whom she shared many adventures and laughs. Karleen always looked forward to their time together.

When you think of Karleen, celebrate the good memories you have of her. Remember that life is fragile and short and should be lived to the fullest.
