After a lingering illness triggered by some cardiac issues, Linda Mosley -pastor, teacher, school administrator - passed from this world to claim her Baptismal promises on Friday, May 15, 2026.

Linda has been called a wonderful role model for women in the church.  She was strong and faithful through bouts with cancer, joint replacements, juggling motherhood, and two careers.  She lived by her Confirmation verse, Philippians 4:13 - "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

Born in New Castle, Pennsylvania, to Dale F.J. Weisbaker and the former Ethel Jeanne Rapson, she graduated from MacArthur High School, San Antonio, in 1966.

Linda met Bill Mosley at a Freshman mixer her first day at Texas Lutheran College.  They became debate partners.  Linda and Bill married August 24, 1968, and continued their studies together.  Linda earned her B.A. in December, 1969.

The Mosley's moved to St Paul, MN, where Linda worked in the Worship Department of The American Lutheran Church.  Daughter, Julie, was born in 1971 in St. Paul.  Linda then managed the Day Center at Luther Seminary.

Bill began ministry in Weimar, Texas, where daughter Renee was born on Pentecost Sunday, 1975.

Linda taught Special Education in six school districts while she earned two Master's Degrees from Trinity University.  The Texas Educational Diagnosticians Association named her to their Hall of Fame.  She established Special Education Departments in three school districts.  After twenty-seven years in the educational system, Linda felt a call to Christian ministry.  As a Synodical Authorized Minister, she served as second pastor of a four- congregation cooperative in Fayette County.  Upon ordination in 2009, she served St, Paul Lutheran Church, Shelby, Texas.

Retiring again, Linda and Bill moved to their ranch in Llano County.  In retirement she served as Interim Pastor for Zion Lutheran Church, Fredericksburg, and Spirit in the Hills, Spicewood.  She also worked at Country Quilt Shop, Llano, Texas, teaching classes and designing quilts until her illness claimed her.

She will be missed by her husband, Bill; daughters, Julie Schmidt and husband, Richard Pollard, and Renee Bolton and husband, Tim; grandchildren, Rebecca Reilly (David Platt), Sara Bolton, Caitlin Bolton, Jessica Bolton, TJ Bolton (Makenna); Heather Nicole Schmidt (Mansell), Christopher William Schmidt (Caitlin), Amanda Jeanne Biggan (Michael); great-grandchildren,  Autumn Marie Rose Platt, Joyce Renee Platt, Iris Elara Jane, and Noah James Schmidt.

Rest eternal grant her, O Lord.  Let perpetual light shine upon her.

A Graveside service will take place on Wednesday May 20, 2026 at 10:00a.m. in St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Castell TX. A celebration of life will follow in St. John Lutheran Church Castell immediately after the graveside service.
