Obituary

Linda Ann Norris was born on September 29, 1945, in Beaumont, Texas to Joseph Zannet Matte and Edith Shelby Matte. While too soon, God called her to heaven on Sunday, April 25, 2021, at the age of 75. If you knew Linda well, then you would know that she was a servant to those she loved. Linda had a passion for many things from hummingbirds, trips to Hawaii, and cruising, but most importantly, Linda had a passion for family. Linda's greatest joys in life were the moments with Tom, the kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. Family gatherings were the highlight of her life. Linda lived an incredible life and so many people were touched by her kindness and compassion. Linda's formative years were spent growing up in a military family, living and traveling the world. Linda married Thomas E. Norris on June 1, 1974, in the chapel at Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. They were married for forty-seven wonderful years. Together, they have four children: Kim Van Antwerp and husband Chris of Hudsonville, MI, Sommer McDougal and husband Coby of Atlanta, GA, Mike Norris of Godfrey, IL, and Becky Reeves of Villa Rica, GA. Also, 9 grandchildren: Sarah, Tristan, Caleb, Sydney, Jacklyn, Luke, Judy, Camden, and Emma; 2 great-grandchildren: Hailee and Gavin; and brother, Rod Matte of College Station, TX. Her laugh, her love, her generosity, and the mark she left on so many lives will be remembered above all else! She is being greeted in heaven by her parents, Joseph and Edith, best friend, Marsha, dog, Corky, and the many others that preceded her. The world is now a lesser place.
