Lora Sageser Walker, age 91 years-3, months-14 days passed peacefully to her heavenly home April 5, 2018 in Harper, Texas. She was lovingly surrounded by her son Scott Senior, daughter-in-law Kina, who took special care of her the last 2 years; grandson Gerald Masters and wife Marcie, great-grandson Hayden Masters and lifelong friend Janice Haag.

Over the last two weeks, Lora had been visited in her home by many family members and friends.

Lora's greatest treasures were her sons Verlon Masters, Darryl Masters, who passed away May 22, 2008 and J. Scott Senior.

It filled her heart to cook for her children, grandchildren, family and friends.  Lora was always a hard working woman who could do just about any job. If you asked for her occupation; the list would be too long as there was never a job that she could not do! She loved tending to her flowers at home; helping with the garden spoilages as they were readied for the freezer or getting them ready to be canned.

Lora worked tirelessly each year, for many years preparing for the family reunions with other dedicated family members.  Her biggest joy was seeing as many family members get together every year as possible.

Lora was preceded in death by her son Darryl Masters, sister Bola Del Deltz and parents Claud Sageser and Nettie Cosper Sageser.

She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Billie Gale Cash and husband Frankie and family who kept close and were helpful to Lora over the years.  Son, Scott Senior and wife Kina,  son, Verlon Masters and wife Mary.  Verlon's children Gerald and Vance. Daughter-in-law Alta Masters, wife of her son Darryl Masters, their children Becky, Chace and Brian.

It should be mentioned that Lora had many friends and family members who helped look after her over the years.  Her grandson Gerald Masters, wife Marcie and grandchildren, Trevor, Lexi, Cole and Kaleb coming by with their lawn tools in hand making sure "Honeys" yard always looked nice.

A special note of thanks to Cole Masters who loved to help his Great-grandmother and enjoyed staying the nights with her so Scott and Kina could get away to see her children in Houston. Cole liked getting paid in "popsicles"

George Menzies was never far away, especially when Lora had caught a coon in the trap on the front porch that needed disposing of! George knew who to call upon when it came time to cull the deer at the ranch and subsequently make sausage.

Janice Haag, who never said "No" when called upon to run by and check in on Lora or take her a meal when Scott and Kina were out on a job. Janice there just isn't enough words to say "thank you".

When neighbor Geraldine Skipper learned that Lora's favorite toast was made with HEB's Naturally Leavened County bread, she saw to it that we didn't run out.

Irene Masters, daughter-in-law and close friend who enjoyed fixing Lora's hair for her over the years as well as just being her friend.

Dr. "Rad" Kothmann, Sandra and Bella; you were not only her medical team but part of our extended family who took the time to give Lora special care whether we were in the office, called with concerns or just dropped by with a question. For this we are eternally grateful.

To our Hospice team: Greg, Denise, Mina, Irene, Ann and Pam thank you for the gentle care and loving concern you showed not only Lora but to Scott and Kina. You each are one of Gods Blessings during one of the most difficult times in ones life. You do your job with love and it shows.

A special Thank You to ALL friends and family who were a loving part of Lora's life.

Visitation for Lora Walker will be 10-2, Monday April 9 ^th , in Squaw Creek Primitive Baptist Church of Doss. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with Elder Bill Moseley officiating. Graveside services will follow in Harper Community Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hill Country Memorial Hospice, Squaw Creek Primitive Baptist Church, or the charity of one's choice.
