Obituary

Lydia Hutton-Cotter of Fredericksburg passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on January 26, 2026 at the age of 94.

She was a beloved mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed. She was a firm believer in Jesus Christ and anywhere she went she was always sharing her testimony with anyone who would listen. She loved to travel to different churches and gospel singing's anytime she got the chance. She was very proud of her extensive rose garden which she tended into her early 90's.

She was born in Montemorelos, Nuevo Leon Mexico in 1931 to Luis Gonzalez and Jova De La Paz. She was married to Robert C. Hutton until his passing in 1997, Later she married James W. Cotter.

She is survived by her daughters Anna L. Hutton, Lydia "Lilly" Hutton and her husband Ed, Rebecca K. Hutton, and Martha De La Paz; as well as 19 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her Parents Luis and Jova Gonzalez, husbands Robert C. Hutton and James W. Cotter; children Rebecca Blaskovic, Aurora Gonzalez, Antonio Hutton and Robert C Hutton III, as well as numerous brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be Sunday February 15, 2026 from 2:00p.m. – 5:00p.m. in the Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Funeral service will take place on Monday February 16, 2026 at 2:00p.m. at the Fredericksburg Funeral Home with Donna Carroll officiating.

Interment will be Tuesday February 17, 2026 at 10:30a.m. at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
