Marilyn Ann Mathison passed away December 2, at the age of 69. Marilyn was born November 7, 1947 in Houston, Texas to Burton M. Mathison and Florence Viola Hamm Mathison. She graduated from Lamar High School in 1966 where she was a vocalist in the Lamar High School Chorus. She was a member of the class of 1970 at the University of Houston where she was a member of the Phi Mu Fraternity. Marilyn was a special education teacher and also worked as an Environmental Specialist and Code Compliance Officer in the local government. She served as President of the Braeburn Terrace Civic Club in Houston.
On May 1, 2004 she married Roger Ernest Ballance in the St. Phillips United Methodist Church in Houston. Marilyn was an avid dog lover and volunteered for the Rottweiler Rescue of Houston.

She is survived by her husband, Roger Ballance of Fredericksburg and one sister Patricia Mathison Sheiffeld of Houston.

Graveside services to be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at the Austin Memorial Park Cemetery at 12.00 P.M. in Austin, Texas.
