On Friday, January 4, 2019 Mark Edward Tree passed away at the Kerrville VA Medical Center at the age of 58.

Mark was born November 24, 1960 in San Antonio, TX to Edward and Jimmie (Burrier) Tree. He was the eldest of three sons. One of Mark's favorite experiences while growing up in Del Rio, TX was acting as a stunt man in the TV mini-series, "Centennial". Some of his greatest childhood memories are of visiting his grandparents in Willow City, TX.

Mark served in the United States Military thirty three years; six years in the Air Force, three years in the Army National Guard, and twenty two years in the Air Force Reserves. In 2008 he was deployed to Balad Air Force Base in Iraq for a five month tour. Mark retired as a Senior Master Sergeant in 2014.

In 1985 Mark became a jailer with the Gillespie County Sheriff's Office. He was hired as a Deputy Sheriff in 1987 and was then appointed to Constable 1 in 1991. He was reelected and served as constable for twenty three years before retiring at the end of 2016. In 2017 Mark was hired on as a Bandera Sheriff Reserve Officer for one year and eight months.

Mark also served his community by volunteering with the Willow City Volunteer Fire and Rescue for 9 years and later he joined the Fredericksburg Volunteer Fire Department for an additional 15 years. During his time with the Fredericksburg Volunteer Fire Department, Mark was a board pension member and held the offices of Treasurer, President, and Lieutenant.

Mark was married to Polly (Klein) Tree in 1989. They had two children, Julie Dreyer and Joshua Tree. On June 14, 2016 Mark married his wife, Laura Jo.

Mark had a strong love of music and enjoyed playing his guitar and singing any chance he got. One of the greatest pleasures in Mark's life was making music with his friends. Over the course of his life, Mark was very involved in his community, always ready to lend a helping hand.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, Edward. He is survived by his wife, Laura Jo, his former wife Polly and their two children Julie and Joshua, his son-in-law Lee, his 3 granddaughters, his mother Jimmie, his brothers James and Terry, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
