Marlin Wayne Grona, 60, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family and close friends following a 3 and 1/2 month hospitalization. His ultimate cause of death was only recently uncovered as a broken neck and compressed spinal cord and the consequences of the spinal cord injury. Marlin is survived by his son, Cole Grona; his parents, Kermit and Audrey Grona, all of Fredericksburg and a sister, Brenda Beaty (Trey Field) of Kerrville.
Marlin was a life-long resident of Fredericksburg, Texas. He worked for the Texas Department of Transportation out of Kerrville for the past 17 years.
He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He especially enjoyed hunting with friends in Colorado and with his father and son at "the Doss Place." The light of his life was his son, Cole, and Marlin coached Cole in Little League baseball in the minor and major league divisions.
