Mary Morin Sr., age 93, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2026. Born June 14, 1933, in San Antonio, Texas, Mary was a vibrant woman of true class—a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother whose life radiated elegance, joy, and a deeply rooted love for her family.

Alongside her first husband, Sam R. Morin Sr., Mary spent 64 cherished years of marriage building a legacy of hard work and unconditional care. Together, they raised their family in San Antonio and Lytle, Texas, before settling in Fredericksburg in the late 1970s. Beyond raising her seven children, Mary helped manage the family business, SRM Manufacturing Co., served as a warm caretaker for over six decades, and later opened her own retail business, In-Step Fashions. She was later blessed with love and companionship in her marriage to her husband, John Schrock.

Faith and music were central to Mary’s life. She made sure her children were in the church pews every Sunday, planting a seed of faith that became the greatest blessing she gave her family. She served as a church pianist for St. Mary’s in Somerset, St. Andrew’s in Lytle, and St. Mary’s in Fredericksburg, while also coaching women's volleyball, at Somerset's St. Mary's, and serving alongside Sam for many years as a Eucharistic minister. Mary found joy in gardening, sewing, cooking, and dancing—especially at Hondo’s, where her vibrant spirit and grace on the dance floor made her a beloved local face.

Above all else, Mary’s greatest pride was her extensive family. She is survived by her seven children: Sam Morin Jr. and wife Donna, Tim Morin and wife Carol, Jeffery Morin and wife Vicki, Catherine Morin Rippenhagen and husband Clay, Mark Morin and wife Ana, Luke Morin, and Mary Eckert and husband Brian.

Her warmth extends across generations, leaving behind 16 grandchildren: Tamara Heimann, Marcy Rochin and husband Jim, Eric Morin and wife Theresa, Reagan Morin, Whitney Jarrett and husband James, J.P. Morin, Levi Morin, Bethany Mathis and husband Brandon, Tanya Carter, Kelti Haley and husband Hunter, Ariel Morin Espinoza and husband Alejandro, Michael Morin, Bailey Nelson, Cullen Eckert and wife Melissa, Gavin Eckert and wife Drue, and Hailey Hoffmann and husband David. Mary was also blessed with 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense light into her life.

She is preceded in death by her fisrt husband Sam R. Morin, parents Amado and Felipa Martinez brother Johnny Martinez and grandchild Sabra Morin.

Viewing: Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 4:30 PM – 7:00 PM at Fredericksburg Funeral Home (2278 S. US Hwy 87, Fredericksburg, TX).

Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, September 4, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church (304 W. San Antonio St., Fredericksburg, TX).
