Newton Houy of Fredericksburg passed away on June 12, 2023 at the age of 92.  He was born on January 22, 1931 to Eli and Minda Durst Houy. He married Verna Mae Roeder on October 10, 1959 in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg.

He is survived by his children Sharon McMahon and husband Jim of Fredericksburg, Patricia Davis and husband Glen of Fredericksburg, Robert N. Houy and wife Kimber of Fredericksburg, Debbie Weber of Harper.

5 grandchildren: Michael and Amber McMahon, Whitney Crenwelge and husband  Zach, Minda Jung and husband Neil, Bodie Houy; siblings; Betty Rabke, Nathile Sims, Vernon Houy, Dorlene Teltow and Bryan Houy; 6 great grandchildren: Mikayla and Ava McMahon, Lincoln and Zoey Crenwelge, Lane and Annie Jung; sisters Betty Rabke of Fredericksburg, Nathalie Sims of Vernon and Dorlene teltow of Bryan.

He is preceded in death by his wife Verna Mae Houy, his parents; his siblings Oline Sagebiel, Elburnie Houy, Lillian Cooper, Hellen Schuessler, H.E. Houy.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday June 15, 2023 at 11:00a.m in the Family Chapel of Greenwood Cemetery with rev. David Priem officiating.

The family will greet friends 10-11 a.m. before the service.
