Pamela 'Pam' Gaines Stuckenschmidt Passed away on May 29, 2024, at Knopp Healthcare and Rehab Center, Fredericksburg, TX, surrounded by her family.

She was born on July 5, 1945, in Albuquerque, NM, to Mary (Eddleman) Winemiller and Wade Gaines and was raised by her mother and step-father, Col. William E. Winemiller.  She met her husband, Leon Stuckenschmidt, at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln and they were married in Lincoln on August 5, 1966.  They happily enjoyed raising their two daughters, Karen and Bonnie along with a golden retriever, Sandy, and a long-haired dachshund, Heidi.

Pam worked for many years in retail sales for Hallmark and as a Customer Service Manager for an HOA management company.  After successful careers, Pam and Leon retired in Fredericksburg, TX.

Pam taught herself to sew, making many of her daughters' clothes and the clothing for their dolls.   She was a master at Count-and-Cross-stitch and made all of the curtains, quilts and pillows for their new Fredericksburg home.  Above all, she was a loving, patient, and active mother and grandmother.  A testament to her love and skill as a parent is the two wonderful people she raised as daughters and the confidence she gave them when they became mothers.

Always friendly and out-going, Pam easily made friends.  She could get the most subdued strangers talking and laughing with her.  We will always remember her kindness and laughter.

Pam is survived by her husband, Leon, daughters Karen (Jim) Richardson and Bonnie Edwa, granddaughters Jessica (Matt) Piccolo and Leila Edwa, and half-sister Kathy (Mike) Davis.

She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, and half-sister Kay Renee Gaines.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Fredericksburg Funeral Home, Fredericksburg, TX, at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 15.
