Pedro Espinoza of Stonewall passed away on August 4, 2025 at the age of 67. He was born in Fredericksburg to Ignacia and  Hesmerejildo Espinoza Sr.

Although Pete did a variety of jobs such as cement work, plumbing, farming, electrician, he was able to accomplish his boyhood dream of becoming a professional musician. As a founder of the Pedernales He not only brought joy with his bass guitar but also served as the glue to bind family and community. We'll cherish his memory with the hit song "El Mona Colorado" and also his own song "Falsas Promesas" may he carry his music to heaven and we'll keep him in our hearts.

Pete is survived by his wife Elizabeth Espinoza of Stonewall, children Adriana Contreras and spouse Lorraine Contreras, Lisa Espinoza, Manuel Espinoza all of Stonewall; siblings Virginia Espinoza of Arizona, Hesmerejildo Espinoza Jr. of Stonewall, Leonor Jaimes of Michigan, Sista Espinoza of Stonewall, Connie Cantu of Stonewall, Tommie Espinoza of Stonewall, Gloria Espinoza of Stonewall; as well as 8 grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his Parents Ignacia and Hesmerejildo Espinoza Sr.; siblings Bonifacio Espinoza, Sisto Espinoza, Raul Espinoza, daughter Clarissa Espinoza, grandchild Josiah Contreras.

Visitation will be Tuesday August 12, 2025 from 4:00p.m. – 7:00p.m.  with a Rosary at 5:00p.m. in the Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Funeral Mass will be Wednesday August 13, 2025 at 9:30 am at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Stonewall. Interment will follow in the Stonewall Community Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be; Pete Lee Espinoza, Mathew Perez, Joshua Perez, Isaac Perez, Joey Espinoza, Hesmerejildo Espinoza Jr., Alfredo Contreras.
