Rubye Helene Boening Wolfe was born October 8, 1922 to Otto and Lydia (Rohlack) Boening in Detmold, near Thorndale, Texas. She was baptized November 26, 1922 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Detmold by Pastor J. E. Scheffel. In that congregation, she affirmed her baptism in the rite of confirmation on August 23, 1936, with Pastor Theodor Bogisch. Her confirmation verse was Psalm 62:1- 2 (vv. 2-3 in the German Bible).

Rubye left school in the 8th grade to help her parents on the farm. She later moved to Austin to work, then in 1946 moved to San Antonio where she worked 35 years for the National Bank of Commerce. She started as a proof machine operator, then moved to the Note Collection Dept., to the Payroll Dept., and finally to the Trust Department.

Rubye married Marvin Wolfe on January 27, 1962 at Zion Lutheran Church in San Antonio, with Pastor C. G. Heinrich officiating. She  and Marvin retired to Kingsland where they built a home, then they later moved to Fredericksburg. Marvin died January 6, 2002.

In retirement, Rubye was very active at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Marble Falls and served as an officer for the Women of the ELCA. At Bethany, she served with the altar guild, Social Concerns Committee, newsletter assembly "troops," quilters, funeral meal team, and three times with the Pictorial Directory team.

Rubye died Saturday, May 23, at the age of 97. She is survived by her sister, Gloria Brooks of Fredericksburg, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church, Hill Country Memorial Hospice, or the charity of one's choice.
